inter-house sports. SHIELD WON BY G. COURT'S TEAM There was a large attendance at the sports held bv the Auckland Retail Drapers and Mercers' Swimming Club in the Tepid Baths last evening. Keen rivalry was displayed between the various houses, the entries being particularly numerous. Some good individual performances were witnessed, A. A dam son, the New Zealand 100 yds. champion, establishing fast times. The inter-house shield, hold by the J.C.L. team, was won by George Court and Sons with a total of 48 points. The J.C.L. representatives secured 24 joints, Milne and Chovce 18, and Tonson Garliek, 9.

An exhibition of water polo was given by the Ponsonby and Grammar Old Boys' teams. After a fast game, Ponsonby won by four points to two. Following arc results:
