CONCERN OF NATION.

MEASURES FOR RECOVERY. PRINCE MAY CANCEL TOUR. (Received 1.55 a.m.) Sun.—Times. LONDON. Feb. 23. With reference to the King's illness, it is now recognised that the earlier bulletins were couched in most moderate terms. There is reason to believe that His Majesty's medical attendants throughout' had grounds to fear the development of pneumonia. The possible postponement of the Prince of Wales' tour in Africa is being discussed in official circles. It will be imperative if the King's recuperative trip is extended bevond March 25, because it is unconstitutional for both His Majesty and the Prince to be absent simultaneously from Britain. The anxiety of the Royal physicians to get the King to a warmer climate without delay is indicated by the disclosure that tho yacht Victoria and Albert, which has not been in commission since 1921, is being hastily manned under Rear Admiral Buller, and is lying with steam up at Portsmouth. The Sketch states that the King has been subject to throat trouble in the winter of the last three years. He had a bronchial cold in 1922 and two attach;, necessitating cancellation of numerous engagements, in 1923. Unlike his father, who was a regular visitor to Riviera, King George rarely visited the Continent apart from the war period. He spends most of his holidays in England and Scqtland. The Times says it is universally hoped that no consideration, either of public business or of any kind, will be allowed to interfere with the measures necessary for tae King's thorough recovery. The nation will insist that the King's first public duty is his own complete restoration to health.
