QUESTION OF RATING POWERS AN AMENDMENT SOUGHT. [by TELEGRAPH. —OWN COIIRESrONDBN r.] TE AKOHA. Monday. The YVaitoa Drainage Board met on Saturday. Mr. F. W. Walters presiding. The magistrate's decision in the case against Lowry, of Morrinsviilc. for disputed rates, was placed before the Board. In view of the magistrate's remarks, it was thought that some steps should be taken to tiring before the Crown Law office the desirability of having the Act amended so that there would be no possibility of misconstruction with regard to the board's rating powers. It was decided to bring the matter before the board's solicitor. A letter was received from the Department of Internal Affairs consenting to the proposal that the election shall lie held on March 11.
