GOLD MINERS' WAGES.

WAIHI OWNERS' OFFER. REJECTION BY THE UNION. [BST TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WAIHI. Sunday, A special general meeting of the Waihi Miners' Union was held this morning to consider the report of tho delegates on the terms offered by the mine owners for a new industrial agreement at the conference held between the parties on Thursday and Friday. After a lengthy discussion it was unanimously decided not to entertain the proposals put forward by the employers in their present form. The decision will necessitate a second conference, and a further special meeting of the union to consider any variation that may be reached, should tho owners think fit to revise the terms in any way. As previously stated, the offer by the company to the men, with the exception of isolated instances, provided for the same wages as fixed by tho 1924 agreement.
