POST-PRIMARY EDUCATION.
MR. TATE'S INVESTIGATION. CONFERENCES IN AUCKLAND. In tiie courso of his investigation into some aspects of post primary education in New Zealand, Mr. Frank Tate, Director of Education in Victoria, will arrive in Auckland toward the end of next week.' The Minister for Education, the Hon. C. J. Parr, stated yesterday it was hoped Mr. Tate would have an opportunity while in Auckland of meeting not only the governing bodies of secondary schools and teachers, but representatives of comme: cial and industrial interests and of Labour unions. The object was to gain as complete an expression of opinion on the efficiency of existing courses and instruction, both in secondary and technic;'.! schools, and to invite suggestions for their improvement, whether bv extension or concentration. These conferences with Mr. Tate would be held in committee.
