HEROISM IN LIFEBOAT.
MEDALS FOR RESCUERS. An heroic and successful sea rescue is recalled by the announcement made in London, on December 13, that the Royal National Lifeboat Institution bronze medal had been awarded to coxswain Tose and second coxswain Patton.
When the Belgian steamer Princess Clementine went ashore oft Staithes ia November, her crew of 19 were rescued, but her captain remnincd on board. When he signalled for help the lifeboat was launched with great difficulty, some of tbe launchers going into the sea up to their necks. When tho boat reached the ■ Princeo.se Clementine she was twice nearly swept on to the deck of tho wreck; but "she succeeded in getting' alongside, and the 'captain was able to jump into her and was brought ashore.
