PERSONAL ITEMS.
Mr. M. S. Myers and Mr. A. Park, of Wellington, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. J. Fraser, of Wellington, and Mr. G. Haigh, of Whangarei, are at the Royal Hotel. Mr. T. D. Burnett, MP., whose healtK is improving, has decided to again con* test the Temuka seat. Major-General C. W. Melvill, officer commanding the New Zealand Military Forces, left for Wellington last evening, Mr. D. A. McLean and Mr. W. A, Be eh re, of Whangarei, and Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Andrews, of Rawene, are at tha Central Hotel. Mr. W. S. Spence, secretary of the Auckland Racing Club, has so far re. covered from his recent severe illness that he was able to leave hospital yesterday. Mr. H. A. Lurman, who was chairman of the Otorohanga County Council in its first year, has handed irj>his resignation as a member of that body. He has attended every meeting to date since the inception of the council, and great regret has been expressed by his fellow-members at his decision.
