demands of the soviet. RETURN OF BESSARABIA. LONDON. Feb. 3. Telegrams from Moscow indicate that the Soviet Government intends to take up a determined attitude toward Ru-. mania in regard to the return of Bessarabia, reports the Riga correspondent of the Times. The Soviet press points out. that the agreement with Japan freed the hands of the Government, which is now able to deal adequately with the small question of Bessarabia. In order to bring her to her senses Humania must be forced to accept the Soviet's demand regarding Bessarabia. Moscow is no longer addressing compliments to France. On the contrary, France has now become the object of the Soviet's special wrath. The Riga correspondent of the Times says that tho French Government has been openly accused of initiating a policy inimical to Soviet interests. M. Herriofc has been particularly attacked lor having commended the action of the Baltic States in preparing against a possible Soviet aggression. The Izvcstia pronounces this as incompatible with friendship, and asks whether it does not herald a definite, break.
