CHURCHILL AND NAVY.
GRANT ON ESTIMATES. FULL fNCREASE WITHHELD. COLLEAGUES' SUPPORT WON. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. (Received 9.5 p.m.) A. and IS'.Z. LONDON. Feb. 11. Tho Daily Express says tho Chancellor of tho Exchequer, Mr. Winston Churchill, has won over the Cabinet to his view in connection with tho naval estimates, although the Sea Lords stubbornly held out for an increase of £10,000,000 instead of tho £5,000,000 which Mr. Churchill was willing to grant. The First Lord of the Admiralty, Mr. W. O, Bridgeman, and the Secretary of State for tho Colonies, Mr. L. C. M. S. Amerv, supported tho Admiralty, says the Express, but Mr. Churchill carried his point. He thus obviated tho possibility of his following his father, the bite Lord Randolph Churchill, into the wilderness. A reduction of at, least 6d in the pound off the income tax is assured, says the paper.
