MOTOR-CAR RACING.
THE MURIWAi MEETING. LIST OF THE HANDICAPS. The handicaps for the motor-car races at Muriwai Beach on Saturday, February 21, were declared yesterday. The limits have been much reduced from last year, and this should tend to make closer finishes and more exciting racing. Some very fast cars have entered, and among the drivers is an ex-world's record holder on the Takapuna racetrack, in motor-cycle racing. Lcn Maugham. who js so well known to the Auckland public for his daring ridin?, will pilot an Austin in the main events. All the champonship races will begin with a rolling start. The competitors will bo assembled back along the Leach and will come up in line, led by the starter s car which will svring wide, on reaching the starting post, allowing the competitors a clear track on which to accelerate and start the race.
