ALIBI SET UP AS DEFENCE TIIO retrial oE John Frederick Davis Telford (Mr. A, Moody) on a charge of rape, or, alternatively, attempted rape, was continued in the Supreme Court yesterday before Mr. Justice Eecd. The girl concerned is deaf and dumb. At tho jury's request they were taken to inspect the locality in which the offence was alleged to have been committed. Tho defence is an alibi, Further evidence will be taken to-day.
