ARREST OF A WOMAN.
DISPUTE ABOUT £IOOO. ALLEGED FAILURE TO ACCOUNT. [CT TiCt.EG?. API/.—PRESS ASSOCIATION. ] -DUNEDIN, Thursday. A smartly-dressed young woman, whose name is meanwbilo suppressed, was charged at the Police Court, under an Australian warrant, with unlawfully receiving £IOOO at Sydney on terms requiring her to account for the same and fraudulently omitting to do so. The police applied for a remand pending tho arrival of an escort. Counsel for accused said she had lived in Dunedin all her life except for a short visit to Australia. She was a married woman with two children. It, was not a charge of theft but a question of whether or not the money was received on trust. She was remanded for a week on bail of £2OO.
