DISARMAMENT OPPOSED
POSITION IN EUROPE. VIEWS OF DANISH GENERAL. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 10.15 p.m.) COPENHAGEN. Feb. 8. General Birke, military chief of staff, criticising the Government's Disarmament Bill, declared that the prospect of war was greater now than in 1914. Russia, however governed, must and would reach the sea ago in, and she would attack the border States, possibly with Germany's assistance. In such circumstances the Western Powers would be bound to intervene, and Danish waters would be the centre of conflict
