LADY CLERK'S OVERSIGHT. NOMINAL PENALTY IMPOSED. [BX TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON Monday. A lady clerk in the employ of a Hamilton firm of timber merchants pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to stamp 4 receipt for £l6 15s paid to her employers. Mr. MacDiarmid, for the accused, said the offence was due entirely to oversight* There being no criminal intent, the magistrate imposed a nominal fine of 10s, with 7s costs.
