AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. Business was fairly brisk oil the Auckland sharcmarket yesterday. There was again demand for most classes of Government securities. War Loans, 1938, changed hands at £97, buyers having opened at £96 12s*6d. Late sellers were quoting £97 10s. Buyers of the 1959 issue offered £97, an advance of 7s 6d on Saturday's price. There was a sale of New Zealand Inscribed Stock, 1938, at £97, late sellers £97 ss, buyers £96 15s. i Soldiers' Loan, Inscribed Stock, were done at £IOO 15s, buyers closing at £IOO 10s, and sellers *£lol, as on Saturday. In local debentures there was a sale of Auckland Gas, 6)j per cent., at £lO2. In commercial debentures New Zealand Breweries Were sold at 225. In banks New Zealands were again sought at 60s 6d, holders opening ..with a quotation of 61s 3d, which they increased to 61s 6d at the last call. New Zealand, rights, were disposed of at* 31s 9d and 31s 6d, late buyers 31s 3d, sellers 31s 9d. Buyers •of Commercials of Australia advanced 6d to 30s 6d, with sellers firm at 325. Offers for Unions of Australia were increased Is to £l4 Is. In insurances New Zealands at 32s were again wanted at 31s 3d, and South British remained unchanged at, sellers 48s 6d, buyers 46s 6d. In gas Aucklands (ord.) had sale at 24s lOd and 24s 9d. In miscellaneous most lines were sought at about late rates, the only sale being that of Sharland and Company at 21s. In mining Waihis were done at 25s 9d, with a late demand at 25s 6d, holders 265. Buyers of Kawaraus increased their offers by 6d to 265, while there was a similar advance in sellers' quotations to 27s 6d.
