RIFLE CLUB'S AGGREGATE. [B? TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAURANGA. Monday. The Rifle Club held its final handicap shoot last week, for a trophy. The best scores were:—T. Floyd, 97; W. Carswell, 97; Harold Oliver, W. P. Bell, and G. Haskell, each 94. The best aggregates are: T. Floyd, 196; W. Carswell, 192; E. J. Smallfield, 192. T. Floyd wins the trophy. The Yacht and Power Boat Club held three races on Saturday afternoon, the course being from the Town Wharf to Mount Maunganui. The results are: — Fourth-class yachts, F. Lvsaght's Kestrel, X; G. Sanders' Pimpernel, 2; F. Robinson's Gazelle, 3. Eight boats started. Combined race, for first-class, secondclass, and third-class yachts: G. lies' Ngaio, 1; Maltby and Paigont's Matua, 2; P. Neilson's Charm, 3. Eight, boats started. Launch race: A. J. Mirrieleos' King fish, 1; P. Carter's Helen, 2; C. C. Hartley's Mona, 3. The handicaps were on the nominative system. Kingfish finished nearest to the time handed in, and was declared the winner. A deputation of businessmen waited on Mr. B. C. Bobbins to-day, and submitted a request that he should offer himself as a candidate for the Mayoralty at the forthcoming election in April. Mr. Robbins acceded to the request. The sitting Mayor is Mr. B. Dive, who has served two terms, and it is understood will again seek re-election. Arrangements for the Tauranga Agricultural Show, to be hold on March 12, are well forward.
