A SON'S EXTRAVAGANCE. FATHER HAS TO PAY. MONTREAL. Jan. 14. Charles Cahan, a leading Canadian lawyer, who went to Europe some time ago, left power of attorney to his son, who bears the same name. During his father's absence the younger Cahan dissipated £50,000 in riotous living, and when his father returned he sued a bank for cashing cheques for manifestly ridiculous amounts. The Judge quoted Mr. Justice Darling's ruling in the "Mr. A." case, and decided that the bank had not been negligent. The son, he said, had stolen the money from his father, and nobody else could have a title to it
