SCOW DESTROYED BY FIRE.
EXPLOSION IN ENGINE-ROOM. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] TAUKANGA, Wednesday. The auxiliary scow Ohia, which has been utilised by Sir W. G. Armstrong, Whit worth Company, Ltd., in the towage of railway material in the harbour, was destroyed by fire off Te Puna last evening. An explosion occurred in the engineroom and flames quickly enveloped the vessel. 'Hie scow master and deck hand got into a dinghy and reached shore while the . scow was still burning.
