TO-DAY'S WEATHER. HERALD SPECIAL FORECAST. Ihe following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. 11. M. Vincent, last evening:—A general improvement in weather conditions is indicated, and fine weather will rule in most places, though further showers are likely in East Coast districts, North-east to easterly winds,, moderate to strong, squally at times. Seas rough, particularly on east coast. Local conditions on Thursday (Anniversary Day), fine and warm, with northeast, to easterly winds, moderate to strong, but squally at intervals, causing rather rough seas in Hauraki Gulf. A. "full sail breeze" on tho Waitemata. Barometer, midnight, 29.90 in.; steady. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: —Present indications are for moderate to strong south-easterly winds, backing to increasing northerlies, Weather "warm and humid, w.th increasing cloudiness and further unsettled weather to follow. The barometer has a temporary rising tendency in the north, but is falling elsewhere. RAINFALL RECORD.
