BURIED AMENDMENTS. That the law relating to main highways is in a state of great confusion and hard to follow, was remarked by Mr. R. McVeagh in a letter to the Waitemata County Council. He said that certain provisions relating to the Main Highways Act were to be found in the Finance Act. In recent years Parliament had departed from the very salutary rule that prevailed in former times, in New Zealand, that the provisions of an act should bear some relation to its title.
