BRITISH IN COLOGNE
QUESTION OF EVACUATION. MATTER FOR THE ALLIES. Reuter LONDON, Dec. 10. Replying to a question in the House of Lords regarding the evacuation of Cologne, the Marquis Curzon, Leader of the House, pointed out that it was an Allied issue, not concerning Britain alone. The Allies must be satisfied that Germany was carrying out treaty conditions.
When the report of the Allied Military Commission of Control, which the persistent obstruction of Germany had delayed, was received, the Allies would discuss whether the first stage of the evacuation could be carried out.
His Majesty's Government had not tho slightest desire to continue occupation.
