Miss Clouston, the headmistress of St. Cuthbert's College, is spending the holidays in Sydney.

Mrs. and Miss Rosenfcldt, of Devonport, have returned home after staying in Te Aroha and Rotorua.

Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Ferguston, Eistore, Manukau Road, have gone with their family to Kaikdhe for the holidays.

Miss Darrcck, and Miss Harvey, of Ealing, London, who have been touring New Zealand, have returned to Auckland.

Mr. Justice Reed and Mrs. Reed, accompanied by Mrs. D'Arcy Irvine, of Sydney, are staying at the Hotel Cargen.

Miss Doris Ritchards, St. Stephen's Avenue, ParneN,' has gone to Gisborne to stay with Dr. and Mrs. Wilson, of Kaiti.

Mrs. W. R. C. Walker, Tauranga, who has been of the Misses Walker, of Patey Street, Remuera, has returned home.

Miss Coreen Egston, of Dynedin, who has been staying with her aunt, Mrs. Ridings, Seaview Road, lu.s now gone to Rotorua.

Miss Harding, daughter of Mr. Alfred Harding, left some weekis ago for India, and has now arrived at Jubblepore, where she is staying with Colonel and Mrs. McLean. c

Lady Fergusson, who is much interested in the Girl Guide movement, has informed Mrs. W. R. Wilson that she has much pleasure in accepting the position of Dominion president.

Miss Katherine Hamber, who for thelast four years has been matron for the Diocesan Girls' High School in Auckland, is relinquishing her position at the raid of this year, and intends going to India, where she will visit her sister, Mrs. Alan Duncan. '

In connection with the recent performance of the " Messiah " at, the Thames Methodist Church, much credit, is duo to the conductor, Mr. A. Clarke, for the fine work shown in the choruses. The soloists. Madame Bella Russell, Miss Phyllis Oribbin, ,Mr. A. Ripley, and Mr. A. Colledge were also well received by the crowded audience.

Her Excellency Lady Alice Fergusson has consented to accept the office of Warden of the Pioneer Club in Wellington, an office which has been filled by the wives of the Governors of the Dominion since the inauguration of the club in the time of Lady Pluuket. Lady Alice Fergusson has also consented to he the patroness of the Y.W.C. A. movement in New Zealand.

At a meeting of the Nurses* Association held recently at the Auckland Nurses' Home, a presentation of a cheque was made to the retiring secretary, Miss C. Stewart, who has seen 13 years' service in the position of secretary. The president, of t' -2 association, Mrs. Tracey-lnglis, ref ::red to the good work that had been d< ne by Miss Stewart, and other speakers also spoke in eulogistic terms of the efforts of the retiring secretary on behalf of the association.

At a meeting of 'the board of directors of the Y.W.C.A. held on Friday the president, Mrs. Wilson, read a cablegram from Miss Elsie M. Griffin, M.A., genoral secretary of the association, conveying her resignation to the board, and staling that she had accepted the post of national assistant-secretary for 1925. Miss Griffin leaves England at. the end of January, and will spend the first part of the year in Australia, her headquarters being Sydney. It is possible that during the second half of the year she will be travelling in New Zealand.

The marriage of Miss Enid Waite. elder daughter of Mrs. E. J. Waite. Neutral Ray, Sydney, to Mr. Thomas Sussex, only son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Sussex, of Birkenhead, Auckland, was celebrated at St. Matthew's Church, Auckland, on Tuesday, December 16. by Canon Grant f'owen. The bride, who was given away by Mr. R. M. IJacket, wore a handsome frock of chenille broche with a French veil and orange blossom, and carried a sheath of lilies. Miss Ida Waite, sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid, and wore a charming frock of applicjued Paris organdie over an underdress of pink romaine. She also wore a silver cloche hat and carried an early Victorian posy. Mr. George McLaren acted as best man. A very pretty tributo was paid the bride by Miss Cowan and her Y.W.C.A. girls, who formed a floral arch, under which the bridal couple passed on leaving tho church. The wedding breakfast was held at tho Domain Kiosk, where 50 guests were entertained.
