ENGLAND'S CHANCES GOOD.
OPINION OF MR. WARNER.
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Itccd. P ~0 a.m.) LONDON. Dec. JO.
Mr. i'elham Warner, in the Morning Tost, says England has justification to hope for success of the first test, as she has the best bowler in the world in Tate, and an array of batsmen who, on a good wicket, will cause the Australians to toil bard and long; but the Australians also Jiavo nine men capable of making a century. Freeman is most likely to help Tate, who- fortunately has the stamina to bowl all day. Sandham's inclusion is justified, as lie is an outfielder, and noted throwers and runners are needed with so many slow bowlers. Given t-qual conditions, England will ■win. because Tate is the best bowler on cither side. The bowling of Gregory, Mailey, Kellaway, and Hendry, on paper, « not good enough to get "ifobbs and toinpany out under 400 runs.
