WAITEMATA COUNCIL WORKS. £30,750 IN NEW LOANS. The Waitemata County Council lias been authorised by the Minister for Finance to raise the following loans: — ; puna riding, £20,000, at 5' per cent.; |, Pukeatua riding, £10,000, at 6 per cent. ; \ Jfuia flood damage, £750. Notice has been received by the council " ! that the following Government grants are • available:—Birkenhead to Albany: Coni j struction, £2000, £1 for £1; maintenance, l i £290, £1 for £2; Albany dairy flat, Silvcrdale, £1263, £1 for' £1, £200 free; " Kuraeu station, Itiverhead, £1250, £1 for £1. Auckland to Helensvillc: Maintenance, £143, £1 for £2. Helensville-Wai-wera: Waiwera Valley, £341, £2 for £1 ; -maintenance, £500, £1 for £2; Kaukapa- • ! kapa bridge, £469. £1 for £1. i In addition, £10,000 has been provided : for the concrete road to Henderson. It was reported at the- last, meeting of I the council that a loan was necessary for ; subsidising the Birkenhead-Albany vote : and that no metal was available for the i Albany-Silvcrdale road.
