i OWNERS REFUSE REDUCTION. i _ i i AUSTRALIAN PORT CHARGES. . LONDON. Dec. 6. The shipowners have refused the overtures made by M. A. R. Hassan, of the Australian Meat Council, to reopen the question of making a reduction in freights on produce from Australia. Early in November the shipowners, in refusing a reduction, said that they were losing money owing to the high port j charges in Australia, especially sieve- ' J doling. I In answer to Mr. Hassan, the ship- ' owners declined to state the percentages I of State and Federal charges and their total earnings. '
