! EXTENSION OF PRIVILEGE. DISPUTED CLAUSE DELETED. Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY. Dec. 19. The two Houses of the State Parliament got at loggerheads over a clause in the Railways Bill, which provided that members who had served in three complete Parliaments should receive free gold railway passes for life. Cabinet Ministers were not, unanimous •on the question, but members of the | Assembly naturally favoured the proposal, ! which passed. Members of the Legisla- ; tive Council opposed tho clauso and promptly sent the bill back with the \ clause deleted. The Assembly indignantly j restored the clause and sent it back to the Council, which decided to insist on j its deletion. The Assembly, though sti' I indignant, swallowed the snub and | accepted the deletion. i """*"-— —
