PHARMACY EXAMINATION.

Sir, — notice th.at the results of the recent pharmacy examination are now available. The'percentage of passes was very low, there being two successful candidates in section A, five in the qualifying examination and in section B, out of a total of 64 candidates, seven had the good luck to get through. Anyone 'with any common sense can see that pharmacy students have at the present very stringent examinations, and yet we hear it is the intention of tho Pharmacy Board to raise the level of the "B" section almost to that of B.Sc. standard, after June «.<f next year. Among students there is a tense feeling of dissatisfaction against the methods of the. Pharmacy Board. Thov fail to see why marks should not be published, and, why, if personally required by the student," a fee of 10s should bo paid. As things stand at present a candidate has absolutely no idea of the margins by which ho has passed or faded and gets no comparative data to allocate the time to bo spent on the different sub jects. The course pursued by the. board m these matters seems unduly oppressive It is whollv illogical to suppose that out Of 60 candidates (approximate) there should be seven only with suflu'ieiil intelligence to be able to pass: that is, that approximately 90 per cent, of those who sit are. "duds.- Maq buu-H.
