When beginning the more active lift* of the siimmcr sports season many people find that they are troubled with a certain amount of si ifiti<?s.s. This stiffness may l>■■ entirely removed by following a tew simple exercises night ami morning until the muscles have settled down to the new conditions. Kneli movement should bo carried out three or four times in rather a slow manner. Join the bands in front of tin- body and swing them backwards over the head as far as por>s-ibl«. Raise and lower the body on flic toe-. several times without letting the heel*. touch the groundStand erect with the hands op the hipand. then bend the upper part of the body backwards and forwards. Bend forward and downward and touch your toes. I Lie on the back anil then bring your-j self into a sitting position. , Lie with the face downwards and raise the body on the bands and toes. After any very strenuous exercise a , warm bulb is a preventive of stiffness. I
