This company is ono of tho most progressive organisations of its kind, not only in tho Dominion, but in tho wholo of Australasia. The secret of its success lies in tho fact that tho company prides itself on its efficiency of service.

All typos of gas appliances aro scientifically and practically tested by experts before they aro offered for sale. Tho company is constantly in touch with tho largest and most up-to-date firms all over the world, consequently the gas consumers in tho Auckland district can obtain tho most efficient and economical gas appliances that the world produces. During the past few years great progress has been made •in everything appertaining to gas lighting, heating and cooking. Tho demand for gas has increased so rapidly that it has been found necessary to considerably augment tho company's manufacturing and distributing departments, and to add to the showrooms at Wyndham Street, Onehunga and Devonport. The recently-purchased largo block of buildings at the corner of Pitt and Beresford Streets will shortly bo opened as an oxtra branch office and showroom, and has been fitted up with all the latest gas appliances. The upper floor will be used as a first-class gas cooking demonstration room, where- demonstrations will bo regularly given in tho use of gas stoves, and where advice can bo obtained from experts on cooking in general. Seating accommodation has been arranged for about 150 people and the room is tastefully decorated, part of which has been set aside as a rest room for those attending tho demonstrations. These offices, show and demonstration rooms will bo opened for inspection and information on Monday next, December 22. Tho official opening will be early in January. New branch offices and showrooms are shortly to be erected at Takapuna and Otahuhu. Cookers. The company lias introduced a new cooker which they aro confident will bocome a groat favourite with tho public. It is known as tho New World Cooker. The principal features of tho oven are as follows:— (1) There is only one burner in tho oven and this is controlled by a Thermostat (known as tho Regulo), which regulates tho gas automatically, maintaining just the right temperature, consequently the gas consumption is reduced to a very small amount. With this device the housewife can put tho food in tho oven and leave it for an indefinite period, knowing that she can leave her homo with the full assurance that when she returns the dinner will be cooked to a nicety. (2) The hot plate burners are of tho high-efficiency typo, tho flame being immediately under and close to tho utensils in use, thus giving the maximum heat with tho minimum amount of gas used. (3) On tho hot plate there is also * duplex simmering burner, which quickly brings tho water to the boil, and then can be reduced to the smallest simmering flame possible, all by the turn of one tap. Four different degrees of flame can be obtained from this burner. A second finish of this cooker is also made fitted with tho same conveniences and named the New World Junior. In comparison with the old typo these new cookers save practically 3d in every Is in tho consumption of gas used. The company stock a large variety of cookers of English, Canadian, American, Australian and New Zealand manufacture. Gas is admitted by unbiassed experts to have no rival for cheapness, convenience and reliability for cooking, and is in regular use in practically all the up-to-date tea and dining rooms in Auckland to-day. A largo "Centaur Island" cooker has been in use some years by tho Auckland Racing Club at Ellerslio, and tho company are now installing gas appliances in tho kitchens of the Auckland Trotting Club, including a similar cooker which will cook meals for 1500 people at ono sitting. Between this and the ordinary household cooker there is a wide range suitable for all classes. The popularity of tho gas cooker is shown in the fact that well over 70 per cent, of the gas-consumers in Auckland uso gas for cooking. Hot Water. A gas califont has advantages possessed by no other hot-water system,; hot water can bo supplied just when wanted in unlimited quantities with tho smallest cost, and when sufficient has been obtained can bo turned off immediately, thus 'saving unnecessary expense. Reliability, economy and tho saving of labour by using a gas califont makes it the ideal system for obtaining hot watqr. An automatic califont system if preferred can bo installed in modern houses where tho turn of a tap will cause gas to bo turned on automatically and hot water to flow immediately; the moment tho water is turned off 'it automatically shuts oil tho gas, thereby saving wastage. Tho latest typo of gas washing copper is the "Maelstrom," in which the clothes are washed as well as boiled at tho same time. Gas irons, rings and clothes driers aro daily proving their usefulness and economy. Considerable progress has been made in lighting by gas during the last few years, inverted burners have now como into general use, and indirect gas lighting is so well known that there is no need to describe it. Gas lighting is superior to all others for the softness of tho light it gives, and it docs not injure tho eyes in any way. The company has recently installed several high-pressure plants in Auckland for industrial purposes.
