SENTENCES FOR CRIME.
WELLINGTON SUPREME COURT [BY telegraph —PRKPS association*.] WELLINGTON. Friday. In the Supreme Court, William Alexander Dickie Duncan, for theft at Wanganui, was sentenced lo 18 months' hard labour, 'and Sydney Charles" Leckie, breaking, entering and theft, to two years' reformative treatment. Alan Cameron McPh«o and George. Edward Charlton were found guilty of indecent assault on a male. Charlton, who was said to be mentally weak, and bad a fit in the dock, was sentenced to three years' detention. Sir Robert Stout said he would recommend prisoner's examination with a view to his detention in an asylum. The trouble was that there was no suitable institution for such cases. McPhee was sentenced to three years' reformative treatment.
