FIBROUS PLASTERERS.
ARBITRATION COURT AWARD. The award of the Arbitration Court in regard to a dispute between the Auckland Operative Plasterers' Union and 20 manufacturers of fibrous plaster, of Auckland and suburbs, ha.-, been filed. It will take effect from January 3, and remain in force for 12 months. ■In a. memorandum to the award, Mr. Justice Frazer states that the Court had settled the rate of overtime and the amount of ho allowance to workers employed on country work. hi other respects the award followed the recommendations of the. conciliation council, which the parties agreed to accept. In regard to overtime it is stipulated that all work done in excess of 40 hours per week shall count as overtime, and be paid for at the rate of time and a-half for the first four hours and double time thereafter. Double time is provided for the usual holidays. .Any time worked in excess of five hours without, time being allowed for a meal shall lie paid for at double tune rates. Included in the reference to countrv work is a stipulation that time occupied in travelling shall be paid for at ordinary rales. Journeymen and apprentices shall be paid an additional An 2d per day for six day- in the week, but in lieu thereof the employer may provide suitable board and lodging.
