Hie first South Canterbury wool sale of the. season concluded this morning, the catalogue of 12,173 bales being disposed of. Competition was keen for the better class wools, particularly super halfbred, which realised better prices. The Merino bidding throughout the sale was steady, local mills operating freely. CATALOGUE OF 18,000 BALES.

DUXEDIN, Thursday. The catalogues for the Dunedin wool sale, opening 011 December 22, are not yet made up, but it is anticipated that they will show a total of fully 18,000 bales, equal to the quantity offered at the sales a year ago. The wool coming to hand is representative of all sorts grown in Otago, and it is in tip-top condition.
