He averaged 41 runs per innings (including 91* against Warganui and 0(3 against Wairarapa) and tcok 21 wickets at a cost of 13 runs per v.-icket on last season's tour, his good all-round play giving him the place of twelfth man for Auckland v. New South Wales. Goodwin (University) is a very useful allround player. Ho is a very fice batsman, who liita sixes on the slightest provocation, n. good field and medium paco right-hand bowler.

Scott (Xorth Shore) is a young player with a good future, being ft first-class wicketkeeper and very useful batsman. Ho -would strengthen any Auckland eleven for his fast-medium right-hand length howling alone. He took threo wickets for 27 and four for 9 against Wanganui on last year's tour.

Postles (Eden) is a good all-round pjayar. Ho was Auckland Grammar School's best batsman in 1919-1920. and has been improving ever since. Postle3 made ft very fine 103 last Saturday against Ponsonby. He is a good field and medium right-hand bowler. Hughes, who learnt his cricket m Melbourne, and iis at present playing in Hamilton, is a good, sound batsman, who can play either the defensive or aggressive game equally well. He is a good left-hand mtdium howler end fine slip field. Jones (University) is a yood. free, punishing left-hand batsman, a medium right-hand bowler and a good field. McCoy (Parnell) is one of the most promising colts in Auckland. He is a really good left-hand batsman, with attractive shots all round the wicket, a good slow bowler and a fino fieldsman Simpson headed the batting and bowling averages for King's College this season and is a good field. He is a. good fast, bowler and very aggressive batsman, liable to hit sixes. He has a score of 176 ;.ot out to his credit tlii3 season.

Butler, captain of the Mount Albert Grammar School eleven, is a slow right-hand break bowler with a bright future. He is a sound batsman and field. Matheson, captain of the Auckland Grammar School eleven, is a fine all-round athlete. He is a good fast bowler and field and very fine batsman, who scores quickly •with, good strokes. He scored a brilliant 341 in less than two hours fcr Auckland Grammar School against Bovs' High School, Christchurch, in the Heathcote Williams Snield match this week.

At a meeting of the Management Committee of tho Canterbury Cricket Association a letter was received from the secretary of the Auckland touting cricket team, an established organisation, which goes cu tour every Christmas and New Year, stating that this season the team wouul be tcuring as far south as Invercargill, and would have available January 7 and for a match in Christehurch. It was prepared to play a representative! aide or another good team.. Its team could play attractive ciicket. It was decided to accept January 7 aid 8 for a match and to oppose the Aucklard side with a Canterbury colts' team.
