A. and N.Z. LONDON. Dec. 16. The president of tho Bo<?rd of Trade, Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister (Lloyd-Greaino), speaking in the House of Commons, said that licenses were issued las'o year for the export of war material to tho Soviet. The latter included 600 Tickers' machineguns.
Ihe bulk of the war material was shipped in tho late spring and summer. The present Government did not intend to issue licenses for the export of war material to that destination.
The Parliamentary correspondent of tho Daily Express says members of tho lato Labour Government state that only limited authority was given to export munitions to Russia from private sources. No war supplies were sent by tho Labour Government to Russia. On tba contrary it had decided against sending such supplies abroad.
