VELIE MODEL 58.

A BEAUTIFUL MACHINE.

EVERY PART DIRECTLY OILED.

NOTHING TO COMPARE WITH IT.

G. L. WINGER AND SON, AGENTS.

Every time we sell a Velie car we make a friend," is the motto of Messrs. C. L. Winger and Son, agents for this car, and whose premises are 6ituatied at tho corncr of Queen and Grey Streets, and when you happen to go into the merits of this beautifullyupholstered machine and hear it in motion well all that can be said about tho mottp is (that it justified in every way for tho reason that it gives satisfaction and begets contentment. "Have a ride in her," said Mr. Winger to a friend to whom he had been speaking of the wonders of tho Velie, and away they went. The effect of this wonderfully-running machine upon the friend was marvellous. Ho had, of course, beforo having tho ride, been sceptical about this car, just as a man who known little of nothing about anything is sceptical about everything, and therefore imagine his utter surprise and enthusiasm about tho machine as it sped over tho streets round the city eating up mile upon mile without any effort. " It's wonderful," ho said as they swung back to tho garago after half an hour's run. " I have never had such a spin in a car before," and ho looked as if he had enjoyed it. Well, thero can bo no doubt that tho Velio is a great motor-car, but tho greatest feature about it is the engine and the oiling system, which is tho design and the product of the Velio factories. It iii: a valve-in-head motor, which is vibrationiess, automatically lubricated, dirt and dust proof, and has a maximum power, and is run with tho greatest economy. It has been agreed by motor engineers that an overhead valvo motor develops more power than a side-valve motor of equai size; that its acceleration is better and its economy more pronounced. The reasons for the valve-iu-htad superiority are found in tho instant response to the spark, the more thorough burning of the mixture, the complete elimination of burned gasses, and intake of a full, fresh charge at everv cycle. Tho Rolls-Royce, Fhe Benz, and Hall-Scott engines feed oil under pressure directly to the piston pins the same as the Velie. These engines are built for air-craft use, a ul aro the most costly and superior engines in the world to-day. There are but four passenger car engines using direct lubrication to the piston Eins, tho Marmo.i, Fiat, and the Dusen erg Straight Eight. All theso motrtrs are in much higher-priced cars than the Velie, yet the Velie-built motor gives this feature. The engines in the following makes of car", have similar valve action to tho Velie, that is, entirely and directly lubricated under pressure from the oil pump:—Hispano-Suiza, Curtiss, Mercedes, Liberty Air-Craft, Rolls-Royce, and Hall-Scott. This goes to show that, the Velie-built motor is a far better motor than is found in other cars of tho Velio pi ice; in fact, it has no superior in design or construction iu the entire aut'< mobile world to-day. Oil is pumped under pressure through the drilled crankshaft to every connecting-rod bearing. From tho rod bearing oil is forced through the drilled connecting rods to each piston plii. Oil leads likewise feed each cam shaft bearing as well as the front gears themselves. The construction of the cyliuder blocks, crank-case and valve mechanism is such that the motor forms a positive dust-tight and dirt-proof unit. Having such perfect mechanism, and a beautifully-built and upholstered body, it inevitably follows that you have a car with a long life, giving a [maximum service for a minimum cost in upkeep. The Velio means service combined with economy. Messrs. G. L. Winger and Son are rendering a service to tho community in placing this car with all its advantages at tho disposal of tho public.
