ANSWER TO DEPUTATION.
A FRESH POLL OFFERED. [BV TELEGRAPH.-own* correspondent-J TAURANGA. Friday. A deputation of ratepayers of tho Otumoetai special rating area waited on tho Tauranga County Council to-day and urged that fresh tenders be railed for the construction of tho Waikareao Bridge and emankment. They contended that » tenders were called now, a tender wouul be attained within the engineer's estimate.. The council adopted a motion to tho effect that, the deputation bo notified that if they desired to have the work proceeded' with a fresh poll would be taken for an amount to cover the increased est iiuated cost, namely, £14,000. The amount of the loan sanctioned »7 tho ratepayers is £12,700.
