BREACH OF FACTORIES ACT.
EMPLOYEES' LUNCHEON ROOM
The inspector <>f factories proceeded against R. Jaffe, tailor (Mr. Hoghen), at the Magistrate's Court yesterday before Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., for failing to provide h. suitable and approved luncheon v>om for his employees. The inspector, Mr. Hollows, said that he was of the opinion that the room set aside by defendant war not suitable. The defence was that the accommodation was adequate and reasonably comfortable.
After viewing the room, the magistrate held that heifer provision, as suggested by Mr. Hollows, was desirable, and defendant was fined £2.
