TRAMWAY EXTENSIONS.

Sir,—Mount Eden and Dominion Road residents are making a great outcry about the curtailment of tramway extensions in their districts, and almost persuade themselves they have a grievance;; but where is thore another part of Greater. . Auckland which has four tramway systems in such a . small area; and that, despite the fact' that both districts, so well treated, have refused to join the city, and accept any of its responsibilities. If any district has be6n badly treated by the city it is Point Chevalier. It seems necessary to have on the council representation from your own district if you are to get justice in these matters. The action, oftho City Council in neglecting the Point Chevalier end of the city is the most inexplicable as this district has the only really safe, clean and extensive beaches that are easy of access, or would be if the council woke up. It is only 20 minutes from Queen Street' to Point Chevalier. This place, despite this nef;lect> is becoming so popular that if the trams were running there the holiday traffic alone would almost finance the undertating, without the residential traffic, which is even now so considerable that thiee efficient lines of bus services, and the Avondale ones which pass through, cannot successfully cope with it. My advice to Cpipt Chevalier ratepayers is, agitate and*kfeep agitating until you get justice even if you have to bringjjuC a candidate for the Mayoralty.
