TO-DAY'S FORECAST.
GOVERNMENT REPORT.
The Government meteorologist reported last night as follows:—Present indications are for moderate to strong southerly to westerly winds, squally at times along the east coast; weather changeable generally with passing showers, particularly in the east coast districts of the South Island and about Cook Strait. The barometer is rising.
HERALD SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:A general improvement in weather conditions is indicated, though a few clearing showers are still likely. There is every prospect of a fine week-end in most districts. South-west to southerly winds, strong to gale at times, but decreasing. °**?. r ? u 8 h - The recent disturbance, which developed a cyclonic storm centre, is passing to the south-east of the Dominion. An area of high barometric pressure is advancing from the west.
