ENCOURAGING FAMILIES
BELGIAN BONUS PLAN. ASSISTANCE TO PARENTS. Times. LONDON, Dec. 9. The Brussels correspondent of the Times says the Belgian Government has decided to institute a scheme for the payment of birth and family allowances to its employees. The birth allowance has been fixed at 250 francs. The family allowance will be 50 francs a month for each of the first two children, 40 francs a month for a third, an'd thereafter 50 francs a month for each child. The allowance will be stopped when a child ceases to be dependent on its father.
