COMPETITION SLOWER.
PRICES SLIGHTLY DECLINE.

At the wool sales to-day 11,134 bales were offered, and met with slower competition. There were frequent withdrawals. Recent top prices were not obtainable for Merinos.
There was an average genera] selection and no quotable change in rates, which were slightly in the buyers' favour. New Zealand lots sold included, Belfast at 44d and H.B.D. at 31|d.
