The Nowshera's plates were I scratched below the water-line.
The Nowshera is a steel twin-screw steamer of 7920 gross tons. She was built in 1919 by Workman, Clark and Co., Ltd.. of U'lfast. and is owned by the Bri'ish India Steam Navigation Company, Ltd. Her port of registry is Glasgow. 'J lie Ha tchmere is a .steel screw steamer of 425 tons belonging to the Northwick Carrying Company of Liverpool.
