WATERFRONT STRIKE.
SITUATION IN AUSTRALIA.
COMPANIES SEEK INJUNCTION.

In the High Court to-day the Orient Steamship Company, the Commonwealth Lino, and other shipping companies applied for an injunction to restrain tho Waterside Workers' Federation from committing alleged breaches of the award and attempting anything in the nature of a strike. After argument had been heard the case was adjourned until Monday.
The Melbourne Waterside Workers' Federation's suspension of the Port Phillip -stevedors and tho Melbourne "Wharf Labourers' Union, has been lifted. . So far, however, no move has been made in the direction of calling ,the strike off, though no further steamers have been declared " black."
