REMOVAL OF HOUSE REFUSE.
Sir, House refuse in this district is removed by the council's carts once a week only. During the winter this may be tolerable; in the hot weather it 13 dangerously insanitary. On very many premises the burial of refuse is impossible, and burning equally so. I am certain that every householder who has to use the council's service would welcome a twice-a-week clearance. The additional expense would not be great; though the ground would be covered twice, the quantity of stuff handled would be only slightly increased, and each cart would clear a great many more houses to tho load and in the hour. Grey Lynn.
