TO-DAYS FORECAST. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government, meteorologist reported last night as follows:—Present indications are for increasing northerly winds and warm, cloudy, misty weather, with rain following generally. Barometer falling everywhere soon. HERALD SPECIAL FORECAST. - The following weather forecast for 48 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening : —Cloudy and unsettled weather conditions, with rain at times, are indicated during the week-end, and warm, humid conditions will rule generally, the disturbance from the Tasman Sea now affecting the Dominion, the centre being expected to pass in the South Island, where the rainfall is likely to be considerable especially along the west coast.
