PIGEON PLYING.
NORTHERN RACING CLUB.
The Northern Racing Pigeon Club held two races on Saturday, in fine weather, from Taumarunui and Blenheim respectively. The former was won by N. Porter's b h Diana and the latter by J. Slater's pd o Royston Gunfire. Results were:— Taumarunui Race.—N. Porter's b h Diana, velocity 1171 yds per minute, 1; J. Slater's b h Royston Vocalist, 1161 yds. 2; .A. G. May's bo Blue Moon, 1157 yds, 3: H. Crowhurst's r c h Inspiration, 1141 yds. Blenheim Race.—J. Slater's pd o "Royston Gunfire, velocity 1068 yds per minute, 1; W, Watsons bk b Mississippi. 1066.1yd5, 2; H. Crowhurst's r c h Patience, 1066 yds, 8: N. Porter's r h Aurora, 1066 yds; A. G. May's rob Kiwi, 1060 yds. AUCKLAND RACING CLUB The Auokland Racing Pigeon Club flew a .race from Ohakune, an airline distance of 180 miles. The winning bird was Walker and Bedford's Consistency. Following are the results:—Walker and Bedford's r 6 o, Consistency, 1247 yds per minute, 1; N. Waddell's blk c Oakland. 1242 yds, 2; Skinner and Cammiok's blk h Watson's Pride, 1241.3yd5, 8: J. Collins' blk h Dolly, 1241.1yd5; J. Slater's boh Royston Rene, 1238 yds; T. Knox's boh Harvest Prince, 1232 yds; B. Cornthwaite's r c c Red Moon, 1231 yds. PREIHER HOMING CLUB. The Premier Homing Pigeon Club flew its yearling championship race from Palmerston North on Saturday. This race was flown on a previous date, but had to be flown again. J. Bell's Welcome recorded the highest velocity, and holds the silver coffee jug to, defend next season. The first, second and third positions also carry club specials. The first six positions were as follow:—J. Bell's r oh Welcome, 1810 yds per minute, 1; A. Horspool's boh Kia Ora. 1809 yds, 2; A. Brown's bo o Naumai, 1307 yds, 3; J. Macfarlane's bo o Airway, 1806 yds; A. Holden's boo Bonny Doon 1805 yds -, S. Webb's blk oh Dorothy Dimple, 1301 yds.
