SATURDAY'S COMPETITIONS.

SENIOR GRADE CONTESTS-

Competitions under the Suburban Cricket Association wore continued on Saturday! when the first four senior matches were concluded. Harbour Board scored an easy victory over Ellerslie at the Domain, winuing by ten wickets. United Suburbs proved too strong for Post and Telegraph, and won by 126 runs on the first innings. The game between R.V. and Ponsonby resulted in a win for the former by 19 runs on the first innings. There was a close finish in the match between Manurewa and Y.M.C.A. at Manurewa. The city team, who put up only a moderate score in the first innings, made a good rally, and by dismissing Manurewa for 82 runs in the second innings, secured a 3-point win, with a margin of 15 runs.

HARBOUR BOARD BEAT ELLERSLIE Ellerslie opened their first innings against Harbour Board, faced with the dilhoult task of securing 215 runs to equal the opposing team's first innings 6oore for one wicket. The bowling was too effective, and Ellerslie were dismissed for 85. They followed on and showing considerable improvement, put on 148. With 20 minutes' play remaining Harbour Board opened their eecond innings, and succeeded in scoring the 19 runs required, for a 3-point win, in half that time, without the loss of a wicket. UNITED SUBURBS V. TELEGRAPH. United Suburbs resumed their innings against Poet.and Telegraph, who had made 139 runs in their first innings. Thp batsmen soon got control of the bowling, and quickly knocked up 265 points for the loss of six wickets, then declaring. Lonergan, Heady, Mauley and Buahell were the topscorers. In their second innings Post and Telegraph scored 84 for the loss of eipht wickets. United Suburbs thus winning by 126 runs on the first innings, a two-point win.
