INCREASE IN IMPOiRTS.
Atmtralian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 7.5 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 1L The imports into Britain in September increased by £17,723,,310, and the exports from the country decreased by £553,268. Re-exports increased by £1,455,092. The principal increases were :—lmports —Grain and flour, £2,865,652; non-duti-able food and drink, £2,528,467; dutiable food and drink, £2.151,970; wool, £2,100,641; oils, fats, and resins, £1,398,796. Exports — Cotton yarns, £1,262,776. The principal decreases were:—lmports—Rubber, £1,021,073.. ExportsCoal, £2,085,762*
