SUPPLY FOR MARLBOROUGH. LOAN OF £300,000 APPROVED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION. ] BLENHEIM. Saturday. The Marlboroygh Power Board's proposal to borrow £300,000 for hydro-electric power from Waihopai, 25 miles from Blenheim, was carried by an overwhelming majority. The actual final figures are not availsMe, but the proposal was carried by at i'east a five to one majority.
HAURAKI PLAINS CONNECTION.
NEGOTIATIONS IN PROGRESS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] MOBEINSVILLE. Saturday. It was stated at the last meeting of the Thames Valley Power Board that negotiations were in progress in order to secure a connection to the Hauraki Plains with the new line from Horahora to Penrose, which is expected to be completed shortly. The proposed connecting line should leave the main line in the vicinity of Pokeno and connect with the Hauraki Plains section at Waitakaruru.
