FRENCH COLT AGAIN BEATEN.
A. and N.Z. VANCOUVER, October 11. The third race in the international series took place at Latonia to-day, and was won bv the American gelding Sarazen, who deWed the French champion colt Epinard. There were, eight contestants, and Saraien a marvellous Tace from the start The French colt was always racing rose' up to the leaders, gaining rapidly v-ith every stride on Saracen, but thfe American peldine got home, first by a length. The time (2m 0 4-ss) is a record for the Latonia track, and i? only 4-sths of a second outeid« tho world e record for a mila an Sartsen S ®cored a wonderful viotory. but turf followers are agreed that Epinard is ?iist at wonderful in defeat. The French colt worked his way up through interference in the final yards oi the journey, and made desperate efforts to overtake the victorious Sarasen.'
